Overview

DeliNote ("the app", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and your rights.

DeliNote does not require you to create an account to use the app.

Information stored on your device

DeliNote stores the following types of data locally on your device only:

  • Recipes you save or generate
  • Ingredients and notes you enter
  • Allergies and avoided ingredients you specify
  • Cooking preferences and dietary identity
  • Favorite ingredients
  • Language preference
  • Usage limits and subscription status

This data remains on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.

Information you choose to provide

Some features ask for optional input from you:

  • Ingredients and notes: Text you type to get recipe suggestions.
  • Photos: Images you take or select when using the ingredient scanning feature.
  • Allergies and dietary preferences: Information you enter to personalize suggestions.

You are never required to provide this information to use the app.

How your data is used with AI services

DeliNote uses third-party AI and API providers to power recipe generation and photo ingredient analysis. When you use these features:

  • The text or image you provide for that specific request is sent to the AI provider to generate a response.
  • This data is used only to process your request.
  • DeliNote does not permanently store your inputs on external servers after processing.
  • Third-party providers have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data during processing.

These features are only triggered when you explicitly activate them (e.g., tapping "Generate Recipe" or scanning a photo).

Camera access

Camera permission is requested only when you choose to use the ingredient scanning feature. You can manage camera permissions at any time in your iOS Settings.

Data we do not collect

  • We do not require account creation or collect personal identifiers such as name, email address, or phone number.
  • We do not track your location.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • We do not collect analytics beyond what Apple provides through App Store Connect (aggregate, anonymized usage statistics).

Subscriptions

If you purchase a premium subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. DeliNote does not receive or store your payment information. Subscription status is stored locally on your device.

Data deletion

Because your data is stored locally on your device, you can remove it at any time by deleting the DeliNote app. If you need help with data-related questions, contact us at delinoteapp@gmail.com.

Children's privacy

DeliNote is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
